Happy Easter!!!
Welcome to Paperiliitin’s Easter blog hop! Let’s tumble down the rabbit’s hole together and hop after the White Rabbit. The rabbit hops from blog to blog, from country to country all around the cyber scrapbooking world!
Here are the hop stops:

Marsha Valk YOU ARE HERE!
All the designers participating had a free choice on what to create for the hop and all pieces of art have something in common. If you’re familiar with Alice in Wonderland, you might remember that the White Rabbit had a pocket watch. So in this hop the common theme is the time piece. You can find an interpretation or a way to incorporate a clock in every creation! Inspiring, right?
Remember to leave a comment at every stage if you want a chance to win the wonderful give away that Riikka has put together from donations from 7 Dots Studio, BadgesFolie, Garn&Mehr, Stromsvigt and Wycinanka. You’ll have just a week to participate (to April 8th at noon GMT)! The give-away is closed, the winners are announced here!
Enjoy the hop and find the inspiring Wonderland of scrapbooking!
When Riikka asked me to participate, I jumped at the opportunity but I didn’t have a clue about what I was going to do. I was thinking along the lines of a lay-out or a card… But then I saw a couple of cheap clocks while running for errands and quickly changed my mind!
Of course the really cheap clocks were not to my taste, but then I found this one with a 20% discount at my favourite department store HEMA:
Perfect! It was a little beaten up around the edges, but nothing that can’t be fixed!
I started by taking the clock apart in order to get a clear idea of what parts I would be able to alter and how I would be able to do it. It turned out that I could just take all the hands off and easily put in a new clock face. The old one was actually just a piece of paper stuck down with double sided tape!
The idea for the new clock face came from this amazing art piece by Martin O’Neill that I had seen floating by on Pinterest.
I had a couple of things on my mind when I went to look for a suitable photo to use. I wanted it to be an Instagram image, I wanted it to be mostly grey tones and I really wanted it to be one of those ‘random’ photos that I tend to take when out and about.
The one I chose was taken in Enschede, during a walk around the city centre with my mom. The text written on the wall is a poem by Jules Deelder called ‘Blues on Tuesday’.
And then I went on from there. I adhered confetti to the photo and I gave the clock frame a coat of gesso before I decoupaged it with Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap.
Here’s one more look at the result:
Simple but effective!
Thank you Riikka for inviting me to participate in this Blog Hop and thank YOU so much for visiting!
And now the White Rabbit is hopping along, so you’d better hurry! Next stop is the überawesome, übersweet and übertalented Nathalie Kalbach!
Such a great idea! The clock looks amazing!
