Hello and welcome to Jessica Sporn’s Stencil Test Drive!
Jessica is a wonderful artist and one of my fellow DT-members at One Little Word.
She’s also the designer of a wonderful range of stencils for Stencil Girl Products and she has invited me to test drive her awesome Bubbles Girl Stencil:
Just look at those wonderful bubbles! Very useful for texture and pattern on a mixed media project or scrapbook page!
When I started planning for this test drive I had Jamie Cullum’s Momentum album playing on repeat. And my brain somehow made a connection between little Bubbles Girl and the song ‘Sad, Sad World‘. Because… how can you not smile when you see a little girl blowing bubbles!
I started out with a blank 12×12″ canvas and adhered random scraps of canvas to the surface with gel medium. Once that was dry, I gave the whole canvas a coat of gesso.
I used matte gel medium to apply the Bubbles Girl image onto the canvas. Once that was dry, I dug out my Twinkling H2O’s, watercolours and watercolour pencils and just started to play around with them.
I applied StazOn Stone Gray through the Bubbles Girl Stencil with a sponge to give the image more definition and I used a baby wipe and Nathalie Kalbach’s What’s The Point Stencil to lift a little bit of the watercolours from the background.
Thank you so much for stopping by and a very special thanks to Jessica for inviting me to test drive!
But before you go, be sure to leave a comment here because Jessica is giving away a Bubbles Girl Stencil to one lucky winner, and EVERY comment in the test drive will be eligible to win. The more times you comment, the more chances you have to win!
Now go visit the other artists in this test drive and see what they did with the Bubbles Girl Stencil!
