Elizabeth Craft Designs | Art Journal Page with Maritime Peel-Offs

Marsha Valk | Elizabeth Craft Designs: Art Journal Page with Maritime Peel-Offs

There is a new Designer’s Challenge up on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog. This time it’s all about Peel-off Stickers.

I created this page in one of my art journals. This journal is roughly A4 size. The pages are rather thin, so I started with covering the paper with a coat of gesso.

Next I added some watered-down purple acrylic paint for the sky and I used a sheet of creased deli paper to create the effect. Then I painted the sea with shades of blue, purple and black and added the peel-offs.

I used Neocolor II’s and Derwent Graphik Line Painters to colour in and add details. The white drops are drops of white Glimmer Mist.

I wrote my quote with a paint marker (this took several coats) and I added shadows with a charcoal pencil and a black pen.
