Dutch Dare: Love is all around

I’m in Valentine’s mode and wouldn’t you know it: the theme for the new Dutch Dare is Love is all around!

Harold and I married nearly 5 years ago in the city were we live. Every other day I go passed the places where we celebrated our wedding day and where our wedding photos were shot. So I’m reminded of our wedding day all the time, even if many of the specific places that are featured in our photo shoot don’t ‘exist’ any more due to city planning. A lot can change in a couple of years!

Dutch Dare: Sketch #59

Yesterday a new Dutch Dare Sketch went online. It’s an extremely inspiring and versatile one: it prompted some of our team members to create more than one project! Go take a look at the projects here on the Dutch Dares blog. And: you are more than welcome to participate!

I chose to create a page for my Florida album. Remember this post? Well… I didn’t finish the album before December 31st 2012. But it’s still my goal to finish it in the very near future. I’m in the process of purging and reorganizing my craft room and I really want this ‘old’ stuff out of the way. Only a couple more pages to go!

Dutch Dare: Toys

I decided to scrap a few photos of my second birthday. I got an overload of toys that day and the coolest thing is that some of them are still around 36 years later!

There is a new sketch up on the Dutch Dares Blog! I took this sketch as a opportunity for me to get messy with Distress Inks and Glimmer Mist once again and I got to use some older stash in the proces!

The photos were taken by Liesbeth when Danielle, Revlie and I suprised her last year with a girls’ day out. Fun times!

The newspaper

A new month: a new Dare! This time it’s all about newspaper!

It’s funny how Dares that seem easy, turn out to be uhm… not so easy at all. I had a lot of ideas to begin with, but I also had a lot of words to share about the subject (The journaling is all about my relationship with newspapers and how it evolved over the years). Clean and simple proved to be the best and only way to go about it.

Most of the other design team members gave this Dare a far more artistic turn though. Want to see how? Go and visit the Dutch Dare blog and prepare to be amazed!

Is This Love

In augustus is er heel wat heen en weer gemaild over een partnerthema op het myStampBOX blog. Samen met Wendy Morris koos ik het thema ‘Baby, Be Mine’.

De foto van de ‘magneetpoppetjes’ heb ik eeuwen geleden gemaakt tijdens een workshop Table top fotograferen. De songtekst is van Bob Marley. ‘Is This Love‘ werd ‘s ochtends een keer op de radio gedraaid en bleef vervolgens eindeloos in mijn hoofd hangen. Eigenlijk is het er sindsdien ook niet meer uit geweest… Elke keer als ik langs het lijstje loop, word ik er opnieuw aan herinnerd!

De oude spijkerbroeken van Harold lagen al klaar voor de Dutch Dare van september: Jeans. Deze Dare heeft weer zoveel fantastische, komische, herkenbare werkstukken opgeleverd, die moet je echt even gaan bekijken op het Dutch Dares blog. En ga je onze uitdaging aan, dan maak je natuurlijk weer kans op een plek als gastdesigner een een prachtige RAK, samengesteld door Margot.

Iets met een boot…

De Dutch Dare voor augustus is ‘Varen‘. Natuurlijk heb ik vaarfoto’s en foto’s van boten/schepen op het water… Sterker: tijdens onze vakantie hebben we nog een toeristische rondvaart door de haven van Hamburg gedaan. Maar die foto’s bewaar ik graag even voor een andere keer.

De foto’s op de lay-out hierboven zijn namelijk door Harold gemaakt met mijn mobieltje (want die had destijds een betere camera). Lees: dit was echt een heel gedenkwaardig moment. Een moment dat zeker niet in onze albums mag ontbreken!

Denk je nu: Ik wil wel meedoen met die Dare en kans maken op een fantastische RAK… maar ik heb helemaal niks met varen! Neem dan toch even een kijkje op het Dutch Dare blog. Ik weet zeker dat mijn teamgenoten je alsnog op een idee brengen!
